What is a virtual weekend?
COVID-19
Since March of 2020, San Jose Catholic Engaged Encounter has been impacted by the shelter-in-place orders which prevent gathering in-person. In an effort to best support couples in our community, we have added a virtual option to our scheduled. We will continue to do so until we are once again able to provide weekend retreats at our facilities. Every effort has been made to ensure that the content is what you would receive on a retreat, and we have used evaluations from previous virtual courses to refine the content so it is easy to consume from the safety of your own home(s).
How does it work?
Many of us have had to sit through lengthy virtual sessions and have experienced the fatigue that is a part of that format, so instead we provide materials and content in such a way that you are able to work together as a couple throughout the week. You will be provided with a live 2-hour Zoom session at 7pm on the stated event date to get to know your presenting couples and to receive a walk-through of accessing the materials and recommendation on how best to work through the course to get as much out of it as possible. One week later, there will be a live 2-hour Zoom session at 4pm or 1pm as part of the wrap up. Throughout the week, couples that volunteer as part of our team will be available to answer any questions you may have so you may have the best experience possible. At the conclusion of the program you will also be provided with an evaluation form that we can use to further improve virtual weekends going forward should shelter-in-place orders be extended further.
